Dress Code

Dress code will be enforced in all classes.

Dancers must be in proper dress code prior to arriving to class.
​

All dancers must have hair neatly up and out of the face. Neat ballet bun for all ballet classes.
​

No jewelry except small stud earrings will be allowed.
​

Unless otherwise noted, dancers are not allowed to wear shirts over their leotards. Tight dance sweaters may be worn in the colder months (no sweatshirts, long sleeve t-shirts, etc.)

Dance clothes and tights must fit properly and be in clean, wearable condition (no stains, rips, or holes).
​

Bras and underwear should be neatly tucked into dance clothes and not showing.
​

Always bring all of your dance shoes to every class.

Dancers not in dress code or without dance shoes may not be permitted to participate in class.

Tiny Tots:
Girls: Any color/pattern leotard and convertible tights. Dance skirts/shorts may be worn. Pink ballet shoes.
Boys: Comfortable sweatpants or shorts and a t-shirt/tank top. Black ballet shoes.
​Kinderdance:
Girls: Any color/pattern leotard and convertible tights. Dance skirts/shorts may be worn. Pink ballet shoes and tan (not caramel) tap shoes with buckle closure (Bloch #S0302)
Boys: Comfortable sweatpants or shorts and a t-shirt/tank top. Black ballet shoes and black lace-up tap shoes (So Danca style #TA04).

Combo:
Girls: Black leotard and pink convertible tights. Tight black dance shorts or dance skirt may be worn. Pink split sole ballet shoes and tan (not caramel) tap shoes with buckle closure (Bloch #S0302).
Boys: Tight black dance shorts, tight black tank top or t-shirt. Black leather ballet shoes and black lace-up tap shoes (So Danca #TA04).
Ballet/Pointe:
​Girls: Solid black leotard and pink tights. Bras must be solid black if visible. Tight solid black dance shorts or black ballet skirt may be worn.
Pink canvas ballet shoes
Professionally fitted pointe shoes for those dancers who have been approved for pointe.
Hair must be worn in a tight bun with no whispies.
Boys: Tight black dance shorts, tight black shirt. Proper male undergarments should be worn.
Black canvas ballet shoes.
Contemporary/Lyrical:
Girls: Any color leotard and pink or tan footless or convertible tights. Tight dance shorts may be worn.
No shoes required.

Boys: Tight dance shorts, fitted shirt. Proper male undergarments should be worn.
No shoes required.
Jazz / Musical Theater / Stretch Leaps Turns:
Girls: Any color leotard and pink or tan footless or convertible tights. Tight dance shorts may be worn.
Tan slip on jazz shoes (Bloch #S0401)

Boys: Tight dance shorts, fitted shirt. Proper male undergarments should be worn.
Black slip on jazz shoes (Bloch #S0401)
Tap:
Girls: Any color/pattern leotard and tights. Tight dance shorts or leggings may be worn.
Recreational: Tan (not caramel) buckle tap shoe (Bloch #S0302)
Competition Group Diamond: Tan (not caramel) buckle tap shoes (Bloch #S0302)
Competition Group Sapphire: Black tie tap shoe (Bloch Respect #S0361L)

Boys: Dance shorts or pants, tank top or t-shirt. Black lace-up tap shoes.
Hip Hop / Breakdance:
Comfortable pants that go below the knee (no jeans). Tight tank top or shirt that does not contain offensive wording. No bare midriffs. Clean sneakers that are not worn outside. Any clean sneakers that are mostly black with no or minimal colors.
Acro/Tumbling:
Girls: Any color/pattern leotard and tight dance shorts. Footless/convertible/stirrup tights are optional. No shoes.
Boys: Fitted shorts and fitted t-shirt or tank top. No shoes.
