Dress Code

At Aspire Dance Center, our dress code is designed to promote a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment where all dancers can thrive. Proper dance attire allows instructors to observe alignment and technique, ensures freedom of movement, and minimizes distractions during class. Adhering to the dress code also instills discipline, encourages professionalism, and helps dancers feel prepared and confident. We appreciate your partnership in supporting these standards to create the best possible experience for every student.

General Requirements For All Classes

Dress code will be enforced in all classes.
Dancers must arrive in proper dress code, with hair neatly secured and out of the face. Ballet dancers must wear a proper ballet bun with no loose hair.
Only small stud earrings are permitted; all other jewelry must be removed.
Clothing must be fitted, non-distracting, clean, and in good condition.
Bras and underwear must be tucked in and not visible. Proper undergarments are required.
Dancers must bring all necessary shoes for their classes.
Dancers not in dress code may be asked to sit out of class.
Shoe requirements are subject to change for performances, including but not limited to competitions and recitals. Families will be notified by the instructor should an alternative style or color of shoe be required for any performance

WOW Dancewear has a copy of Aspire Dance Center’s current dress code on file and can assist families in finding the correct items for each class.

Tiny Tots

Clothing:
- Female: Any color or pattern leotard, tights, optional dance skirt or shorts
- Male: Comfortable shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top
Shoes:
- Female: Pink ballet shoes (Bloch #SO249 or Capezio #V100)
- Male: Black ballet shoes

KinderDance

Clothing:
- Female: Any color or pattern leotard, convertible tights, optional dance skirt or shorts
- Male: Comfortable shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt or tank top
Shoes:
- Female: Pink ballet shoes and tan buckle tap shoes (Bloch #SO249 or Capezio #V100)
- Male: Black ballet shoes and black lace-up tap shoes (So Danca #TA04)

Combo Classes

Clothing:
- Female: Black leotard, pink convertible tights, optional tight black dance shorts or skirt
- Male: Fitted black dance shorts, black t-shirt or tank top
Shoes:
- Female: Pink split sole canvas ballet shoes (Capezio #2037C/W) and tan buckle tap shoes (Bloch #S0302)
- Male: Black canvas ballet shoes and black lace-up tap shoes (So Danca #TA04)

Ballet / Pointe

Clothing:
- Female: Solid black leotard, pink tights
  - Optional: Black ballet skirt or tight black dance shorts
  - Bras must be solid black if visible
  - Hair must be in a tight bun with no whispies
- Male: Fitted black shorts or pants, fitted black shirt
Shoes:
- Female: Pink canvas ballet shoes (Capezio #2037C/W)
- Male: Black canvas ballet shoes
- Approved dancers only: Professionally fitted pointe shoes

Contemporary / Lyrical

Clothing:
- Fitted dancewear including leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
- Footless or convertible tights (pink or tan) optional
Shoes:
- None required

Jazz / Musical Theater / Stretch Leaps Turns

Clothing:
- Fitted dancewear including leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
- Footless or convertible tights (pink or tan) optional
Shoes:
- Female: Tan slip-on jazz shoes (Bloch Pulse #SO470)
- Male: Black slip-on jazz shoes (Bloch Pulse #SO470)

Tap

Clothing:
- Fitted dancewear including leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
- Footless or convertible tights (pink or tan) optional
Shoes:
- Recreational & Diamond: Tan buckle tap shoes (Bloch #S0302)
- Sapphire: Black tie tap shoes (Bloch Sync #SO321L)
- Male: Black lace-up tap shoes

Hip Hop / Breakdance

Clothing:
- Comfortable athletic clothing (no jeans)
Shoes:
- Clean sneakers that are NOT worn outside.
- Recital requirement: Mostly black sneakers with minimal color

Acro / Tumbling

Clothing:
- Fitted dancewear including leotards, leggings, shorts, sports bras, or tank tops
- Footless, stirrup, or convertible tights optional
Shoes:
- None required
